Christian Frock covers the Galéria de la Raza exhibition featuring Yolanda Yañez and her son Rio who are facing eviction from their longtime Mission home. “López, 71, was a leading feminist and pioneer of the Chicana art movement in the ’60s and ’70s. After high school in San Diego, she came to the city and was active in the San Francisco State College strike that established the School of Ethnic Studies, as well as a group of Latinos and Latinas who advocated for Los Siete de la Raza.”
